Great article, worrying but honest and analytical.

As someone brought up in Sheffield and who has supported them from about 5 years old I think the call for a merged team mainly comes from those who are not from the City and don't understand the rivalry between the clubs. I agree we probably won't win the PL but the Championship is such an exciting division.
Some of my best friends and family are Wednesdayites and I respect their passion for a club that I sincerely hope survive.... but let us keep beating them🤭🥳 oh and I was there at the so called Boxing Day massacre!
"I hope I’m not around to see it. Because Sheffield United Football Club, to me, is a beautiful and complex thing. And, as much as I don’t like them, Sheffield Wednesday fans reserve the right to see their club in the same way."
Exactly so. Is it really "up" to new owners to tell fans who to support?! One couldn't imagine such a thing happening in, say, Manchester, Birmingham or London; let's hope reason and sense prevail!
Great article and investment is very much shaking hands with the devil. The Prince had best interest at heart but no capital to spend.
An in depth journalistic piece on the owners would be interesting. Especially considering recent developments about enlisting Penwick around selling a stake in United due to interest Wednesday garnered…they already lost a major backer (if they even existed)) post play-offs.
Good article.
Well, if it does happen, god forbid, there’s only one name a single Sheffield Club could be called…Sheffield United ✊🏼❤️⚔️

That’s very kind Ben, thanks!

Thanks, Sam - very well reasoned.
