Game-state, chance creation, Oliver Arblaster and the 'problem' of left-hand side – David Taylor and Sam Parry analyse Sheffield United's Championship start.
Arblaster the metronome! One thing about the left hand side issue. I thought against Watford when McCallum came on in the second half it gave Burrows licence to move further up. This stretched Watford when they were trying to counter attack. I thought Burrows and McCallum showed good understanding and complemented each other. That allowed Hamer to roam. We also have a roamer in O'Hare. This adds as you say to our unpredictability in a good way. The opposition struggle to identify where the threat is coming from.
I wonder if Arblaster and Souza in the same side is a luxury? But dropping Souza would be unfair right now. The only thing lacking is a Billy Sharp in his prime to finish the chances. A fox in the box. Moore isn't that and Brewster sadly doesn't look like he can be that either. But I concur, cautious optimism is justified as long as off the field events don't capsize the ship.
I don't know if Blaster and Souza together is a luxury. It will be interesting to see who plays in the central-two if one is injured or suspended. I actually think Moore is more of a poacher than he currently looks...problem being, we're not creating him 2/3 chances per game. (We're not having to do that tbf).
I thought we looked stronger down the left again last night with both McCallum and Burrows on. I thought it was Blaster's weakest performance last night so far but that's perhaps to be expected. Cannot expect him to be ripping up the park every game. He's still learning the trade. He seemed to fade second half. Subs were good. Jury's out on Moore. But way too early to write him off as some are doing.

Thanks gentlemen another good listen.
I agree that providing the pod after a number of games gives time for reflection & more context.
