Unbeknownst to me, those were some of the first words I would hear about the team I’ve come to support more than any other in any sport. I grew up in Los Angeles, California. I don’t have a significant connection to the city of Sheffield or the United Kingdom, save for the fact that my paternal grandfather was stationed just outside London in the lead-up to D-Day.
