Through top flights and lowlights, moving south as a child didn't dim Phil Ridley's passion for the Blades – and even made him a Hampshire football hipster
Bloody loved this article. Really close to my heart what you write about. I grew up in Sheffield but all my mates were Liverpool dispite being born in Sheffield. But could never get them on the Kop 🙄Always enjoyed you and the others on Four Blades. Wished you podded a bit more these days especially after losing Bladespod but completely understand the pressures of life getting in the way.
Just to say, Four Blades was/is a massive part of connecting with our club from someone who lives away from our city. You guys are sadly missed but we all really appreciate a pod when you get the chance. No pressure and UTB and maximum love and reflect 🔐✊🏼⚔️❤️
Great story! I hope my son can write something like that for me one day! Both my son and daughter will London-accented Blades, since I moved here in 2011! There's actually a few in the London Blades group that have been born and bred down here, but have dad's or granddad's from Sheffield. Here's to flying the flag, far and wide!
Thanks, Phil
What a lovely article! I think you definitely give meaning to "Blade for Life"!
Sue.
