In the summertime, when the weather is hot. You can stretch right up and touch the sky. When the weather's right, you’ve got the Blades, got the Blades on your mind…Or maybe you haven’t.
Thanks to a winter Qatar World Cup which even the Mail has described as “blood-stained”, this year, we have a much-reduced summer break on our hands.
Short; yes. But nevertheless, the sporting calendar has been crammed with the women’s Euros, the tennis, the golf (Matt Fitzpatrick: waaay), the cricket (Joe Root: waaay), and Love Island.
Oh yeah, and the government has collapsed.
If you’ve been picking at that smorgasbord of delights over the past few weeks, you might have missed some of the incomings, outgoings and goings-on at Bramall Lane. I know I have. And so this article - part timeline, part aide-mémoire - consolidates some of the least insignificant and most trivial milestones ahead of the first game of the 2022-23 season on *checks calendar* August 1st(!).
