3 - Bad, errors made
4 - Below average
5 - Average performance
6 - Slightly better than average
7 - Lots of promising signs
8 - Good performance, big impact on the game
9 - Very good performance, multiple huge moments
10 - Very rare, near-perfect performance
Wes Foderingham – 4
Close to average overall, but beaten at the near post again and distribution wasn’t good.
Jayden Bogle – 8
So comfortable in all phases of the game, just oozes quality at the minute, seeing Wilder get the best out of him puts a smile on my face.
Anel Ahmedhodzic – 5
Not a bad performance by any means but I’m firmly of the opinion that he should’ve given away a penalty.
Jack Robinson – 6
Solid as usual and made a very important block at 2-1 to keep us in the game.
Auston Trusty – 6
Looked a bit shaky in possession at times I thought but did very well in the build-up to the first goal and good defensively.
Vinicius Souza – 4
The ultimate opinion divider. My eyes saw a player who was constantly poor in possession and looked like making an error every time he got it. Some will agree while others will not, that’s football.
James McAtee – 6
Wasn’t his best game the quality he possesses is evident and those moments make him stand out in our time.
Gustavo Hamer – 5
I wish I could score him higher because, particularly in the first half, he made some excellent passes to break the lines and was the heart of our ball progression today. If only he wasn’t clueless in his own box
Andre Brooks – 6
Similarly, to McAtee, I actually think can do better than today but had some moments of real class and is really growing into games more and more.
Ben Brereton Diaz – 7
Would give him an 8 but for the missed chance 1-on-1 in the second half. Showed conviction, desire and belief. And that character is something we need right now, delighted for him to pick up a debut goal.
Will Osula – 5
I promise I have nothing against the lad, but I still don’t think he’s at the level yet, and that’s fine. Worked hard but didn’t really have any stand-out moments but he’s still developing and will get better.
Substitutes:
Oli McBurnie – 7
Works his socks off, wins headers, scored the equaliser. Not sure how people can still criticise him.
Cameron Archer – 5
Definitely not a winger and just looked painfully average. Please give him minutes in his actual position.

I thought it was Hamer that gave away the penalty. He was also responsible for the missed tackle on Ings immediately prior to their first goal.
Souza played quite well but I wish he would be a bit more ambitious with his passing instead of always taking the easy option.
Been genuinely amazed at the flak Souza’s had in the eyes of some for yesterday’s game. For me he did a lot of good that was somewhat undone by a couple of misplaced passes – it feels like the latter seem to have been weighted higher.
Good things he did: often received the ball under pressure and was calm with it (at 88.9% pass completion he was the highest of our starters), was generally good at making the midfield tick with a good number of progressive passes (he was particularly good at quickly fizzing the ball to Bogle), good energy and effort. On the negatives, not as involved in terms of tackling/intercepting as he has been in the last month or so.
I’d have marked him same as Robinson, who did a q lot of good work but also had a couple of bad passes that set up West Ham attacks, and was also done for the penalty. I’d have also had Souza higher than Gus, who though I really do rate him, had a bit of a torrid time – and in truth was lucky to stay on the pitch, with some bookable challenges before the penalty.
