Lovely bit of nostalgia this! I can’t believe nobody said our 4-1 defeat to Bristol City at home, this season as being the worst. Just 3 months after we annihilated them in the play-offs, it was an indication of what was to come from the new, albeit short-lived Selles era.

Well. Mixed feelings on that one. At half time, I don’t think many people thought that was the worst first half in history. And then, it could also (touch wood) potentially be the start of one of the maddest seasons in history.

Let’s hope so! It could still be objectively the worst opening day, whilst being the first game in a season where we then go on to pull off the unthinkable.

I really enjoyed this, well done to all concerned. I take back my bad memory jibes I made on Twitter about Roy (in my Chimpan_A alter ego).

Great addition to the Pinch podcast rotation this. When I saw the topic I immediately thought of the Gillingham and Sunderland games as my standout worst/best, so it was great to see those mentioned. I maintain that for the latter Deane should have been given motm – looked a class above, and just excitingly looked a substantially better all-round player than when he left us. Will have to rewatch it.

Outstanding stuff! That Gillingham game still stings quite a bit, but that Bournemouth game (and goal) my God, that’s in the top three away games.

Brilliant work, top listen!
